Postdoctoral Researcher – History of Literary Exhibitions

About the role

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to investigate the history of literary exhibitions in French‑speaking regions of Northern Europe. The position is part of the RIMELL network at KU Leuven and combines archival research with scholarly dissemination.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research on past literature and book exhibitions, including extensive archive work.
• Analyse the historical links between literature, museums and cultural heritage.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present them at national or international conferences.
• Contribute to the RIMELL network’s activities and collaborate with museum professionals and scholars.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in literary studies, museology or a closely related discipline.
• Native‑level proficiency in French and excellent command of English; Dutch is a plus.
• Strong interest in literary heritage, museum studies and exhibition history.
• Willingness to work on campus three to four days per week and to engage in team‑based research.
