Policy Research Intern – Brussels

About the role

Hanover is seeking an ambitious Policy Research Intern to join its Brussels team. The intern will support policy and communications work across multiple EU policy areas, gaining hands‑on experience in legislative monitoring, research and event coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor legislative developments and EU decision‑making processes.
• Conduct targeted research and policy analysis.
• Draft policy materials, evaluations and research reports.
• Support communications activities, including social‑media campaigns.
• Assist in organising and attending events.
• Provide administrative support to clients and new‑business initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of EU institutions and decision‑making.
• Relevant degree (law, EU studies, political science or similar).
• Excellent oral and written English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Self‑motivated team player, quick learner comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
• Previous internship experience in EU institutions or a trade association is an asset.
• Availability for a 6‑month onsite internship starting end of August.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using AI tools.
• Familiarity with social‑media and marketing tools.
