Policy Intern – EU Transport (9‑month paid internship)

About the role
IRU is seeking a Policy Intern to join its Brussels advocacy team for a nine‑month paid placement. The intern will support the development and promotion of EU transport policies affecting freight and passenger mobility.
Key responsibilities
- Assist senior advisers with policy analysis, legislative tracking and related tasks for EU freight and passenger transport.
- Help organise IRU meetings, high‑level conferences, lobbying workshops, seminars and engagements with EU officials.
- Analyse, synthesize and disseminate information while performing administrative duties.
- Monitor the work of relevant European Parliament committees and European Commission services.
Required profile
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Student or recent graduate in Political Science, Law, European Studies or a related field.
- Strong interest in EU transport policies, especially social, digital and environmental aspects.
- Attention to detail and a proactive “can‑do” attitude.
- Good organisational skills.
Required skills
- Microsoft Office.
