Platform Engineer – Internal Developer Platform

About the role

Gaming1 is seeking a Platform Engineer to join its Platform team in Liège. The role focuses on building and maintaining the internal developer platform that enables secure, observable, and self‑service software delivery across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑design and implement platform capabilities using Infrastructure‑as‑Code principles.
• Create self‑service tools and automation to improve developer productivity.
• Ensure platform security standards are applied and kept up to date.
• Monitor performance, capacity and availability from a customer‑centric perspective.
• Implement and validate disaster‑recovery procedures and test platform resilience.
• Research, experiment with, and evaluate new technologies to drive platform innovation.
• Document platform features and conduct workshops to evangelize capabilities.
• Collect user feedback and continuously improve the platform experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps or related fields.
• Strong mindset focused on self‑service, automation and developer experience.
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication skills for sharing technical knowledge.

Required skills

• Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Container technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, Helm.
• Automation scripting languages: Python or .NET.
• CI/CD pipeline tools and developer experience platforms.
• Observability tools: DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Database and messaging systems: PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Kafka.
• Knowledge of security standards for operational platforms.
