Operator – Technical Security (NATO)

About the role

The Joint Intelligence and Security Division of NATO seeks two Operators in Technical Security to support the protection of NATO personnel, information and assets. The role involves performing technical security tasks, developing regulations and providing expert advice to internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM) and Technical Security Inspections (TSIs) to detect and deter threats.
• Operate In‑Place Monitoring Systems (IPMS) and active counter‑measure equipment.
• Develop, maintain and update technical security regulations and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Provide technical security recommendations and advice to NATO departments.
• Work flexibly outside normal hours and travel when required.

Required profile

• Higher secondary education with 4 years relevant experience, or vocational/post‑secondary degree in a technical or security field with 2 years experience.
• Physical ability to perform labour‑intensive tasks, work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Methodical problem‑solving approach with attention to detail under time pressure.
• Language proficiency: Advanced (V) in English or French and Beginner (I) in the other official NATO language.
