Onsite IT Support Engineer

About the role

HCLTech is seeking an experienced Onsite IT Support Engineer to be the primary IT point of contact at a Belgian site. The role covers both traditional IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments, ensuring continuous operation of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, shop‑floor technology, network infrastructure, and manufacturing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and troubleshoot printers, faxes, copiers, RF guns and phone equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, hardware and software issues.
• Provide smart‑hands support for infrastructure devices and OT equipment such as PLCs, flat‑network devices, Zebra label printers, RF scanners and rugged tablets.
• Act as the “Face of IT” on‑site, proactively escalating and driving issue resolution with the broader HCLTech team.
• Support shop‑floor hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, iOS/Android devices, tablets and industry‑grade peripherals.
• Maintain data closets, perform daily health checks on critical IT infrastructure and servers.
• Coordinate with IT and OT vendors to keep the site operational.
• Communicate status and critical issues to all stakeholders and lead site‑level P1 incidents.

Required profile

• Valid authorization to work in Belgium.
• Proven experience as an onsite IT support engineer in a mixed IT/OT environment.
• Ability to work independently and act as the primary IT owner on site.

Required skills

• Desktop and laptop support (Windows, macOS).
• Mobile device support (iOS, Android).
• Network troubleshooting and connectivity diagnostics.
• Printer, copier, fax and RF gun configuration.
• OT knowledge: PLCs, manufacturing plant IT systems, flat‑network devices.
• Experience with industry‑grade peripherals (Zebra label printers, RF scanners, rugged tablets).
• Data‑centre / data‑closet management.
• Server health monitoring.
• ITIL process awareness.
