Offshore Construction Manager

About the role

The client, a leading transmission system operator in Belgium, is seeking an Offshore Construction Manager to oversee the construction of an artificial offshore energy island. The position alternates between on‑shore office phases and offshore rotation phases, ensuring safe, compliant, and on‑schedule delivery of rebar, formwork, concreting, revetment rock works, and harbour outfitting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day construction follow‑up on the offshore island as the client’s single point of contact with the EPC contractor.
• Coordinate a team of client representatives and project engineers to keep works safe, compliant and on schedule.
• Monitor progress of rebar, formwork, concreting, perimeter structures, revetment and harbour outfitting.
• Proactively identify and flag risks, opportunities and lessons learned throughout the programme.
• Report to the Island Works Manager and collaborate with marine, civil, QC, HSE and contracts teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in offshore or large‑scale construction project management.
• Ability to work in a hybrid mode with 2‑week or 4‑week offshore rotations.
• Right to work in Belgium (non‑EU candidates need a Belgian work permit).
• Strong communication skills to act as liaison between on‑shore and offshore teams.
