Ocean Export Operated Forwarder

About the role

We are looking for an Ocean Export Operated Forwarder to join our growing team in Belgium. You will be responsible for handling ocean export transactions for a dedicated portfolio of accounts, ensuring all documentation and shipment processes meet company and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review and process export documentation (SLI, Delivery Orders, BLs, insurance certificates, certificates of origin, export declarations) using GS‑NET and Cargowise.
• Arrange, book and confirm cargo space on vessels and calculate freight rates and insurance accurately.
• Prepare and send advance shipment notifications to shippers, consignees and destination offices.
• Meet all internal and governmental deadlines for document processing.
• Close files, distribute documents in compliance with export standards, and communicate any irregularities to the supervisor.

Required profile

• First experience in freight forwarding or a degree in logistics.
• Professional proficiency in English and Dutch for customer and customs communication.
• Familiarity with forwarding concepts, practices and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and independently.
• Team player with good prioritisation and multitasking abilities.
