New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer – Leuven

About the role

Septentrio is looking for a New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to support the industrialisation of new products from prototype to mass production. The role works closely with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and external suppliers to ensure a smooth, efficient and high‑quality transfer into manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Support the transfer of new products from R&D to manufacturing, covering prototype builds through to mass production.
• Participate in design reviews to enforce Design for Assembly, Design for Repair and other Design Excellence principles.
• Define manufacturing processes, assembly flows and create the required documentation.
• Monitor production performance metrics such as quality and yield.
• Analyse production issues, identify root causes and support corrective actions.
• Follow up on issues detected in serial production and ensure proper resolution.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and suppliers; assist in supplier selection and technical discussions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electronic, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to travel for one week outside Europe every three months.
• Interest in production environments and hands‑on engineering work.
• Structured, analytical and detail‑oriented mindset with a proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
