Nature Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a Nature Consultant to join our Climate & Nature Solutions advisory team in Belgium. You will help global clients navigate evolving regulatory and voluntary frameworks related to forests, land use, and biodiversity. The role combines technical expertise, strategic insight, and client‑delivery skills to create actionable nature‑positive strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Support clients in developing and implementing forest‑positive and deforestation‑free supply chain strategies.
• Identify and manage nature DIROs (dependencies, impacts, risks, opportunities) across operations and value chains.
• Interpret and operationalise EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements, including due‑diligence, traceability, and geolocation.
• Advise on Science Based Targets for Nature (SBTN) target setting, baseline development, and implementation planning.
• Provide technical advisory on forest‑risk commodities, land‑use change, and ecosystem conversion, including risk screening and hotspot analysis.
• Develop traceability systems, supplier engagement programmes, and data frameworks to meet regulatory and voluntary disclosure needs.
• Translate technical findings into clear disclosures for CDP Forests, TNFD, and integrated ESG reporting.
• Contribute to business development by supporting proposals and client pitches.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in sustainability, forestry, land‑use or forest‑risk commodity supply chains.
• Demonstrated knowledge of EUDR, TNFD, or similar frameworks.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience with geospatial or supply‑chain data analysis.
• Proven client‑facing skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
