Monitoring Engineer – Site Reliability (Utilities)

About the role

A leading organization that operates critical infrastructure is looking for a Monitoring & Observability Engineer to strengthen its Site Reliability Engineering capabilities. You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to improve the reliability, scalability and performance of on‑premises platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise monitoring platforms using Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.
• Create dashboards, visualisations and alerting strategies, and define SLI/SLO frameworks.
• Implement distributed tracing, log aggregation (Elasticsearch) and promote monitoring standards.
• Manage and optimise Linux‑based on‑premises infrastructure, ensuring security and compliance.
• Automate deployment, monitoring and configuration management with scripting (Python, Bash, Go).
• Participate in incident response, on‑call rotations and root‑cause analysis.
• Support capacity planning and performance optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in monitoring and observability engineering.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on production experience with Grafana and Prometheus.
• Strong Linux system administration background.
• Proven experience supporting on‑premises infrastructure environments.
• Fluent English (C1); additional French, Dutch or German is a plus.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation.
