Monitoring and Linux System Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Monitoring & Linux System Engineer to provide advanced operational support for our Linux‑based IT infrastructure. The role focuses on system monitoring, observability, and platform reliability, ensuring stability, performance, and availability across production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise Linux infrastructure in production.
• Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
• Monitor system health, detect issues proactively, and resolve incidents.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and apply long‑term corrective actions.
• Execute system maintenance, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Develop dashboards and observability tools to improve visibility.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting and Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure end‑to‑end reliability.
• Evaluate new technologies and contribute to proof‑of‑concept initiatives.
• Participate in on‑call support and standby rotations as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience managing Linux‑based infrastructure at enterprise scale.
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring and observability concepts.
• Strong background in Linux platform engineering, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or equivalent) administration.
• Red Hat Satellite 6.x for provisioning and patching.
• Ansible Automation Platform – playbooks and roles.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code concepts.
• Git‑based version control (GitLab, Azure DevOps).
• CI/CD pipeline implementation for infrastructure.
• Podman or other OCI‑compliant container technologies.
• PRTG monitoring tool (highly desirable).
• Metrics collection, log aggregation, alerting strategies, event correlation, anomaly detection, performance baselining.
