Medior Embedded Software Engineer – Railway Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Medior Embedded Software Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team developing safety-critical railway systems. The role combines hands-on coding with deep analysis of software behaviour at the hardware level.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software solutions with a primary focus on Python (minimum 5 years of experience).
• Contribute to low-level development and integration with hardware using C, C++ and/or C#.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex, distributed, multi-application environments.
• Analyse and resolve system-level challenges, including hardware/software interactions.
• Develop and maintain communication layers using network and industrial protocols such as TCP, UDP and CIP.
• Ensure robustness, reliability and performance of safety-critical embedded systems.
• Collaborate with software, system and validation teams in an Agile setting.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience (mid-level).
• At least 5 years of hands-on Python development.
• Strong affinity with embedded systems and low-level hardware interaction.
• Proficiency in at least one additional language: C, C++ or C#.
• Good understanding of networking concepts and industrial communication protocols.
• Ability to debug and analyse complex system-level issues.
• Analytical, autonomous and detail-oriented team player.
