Mechanical Supervisor

About the role

Mercury is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to lead on‑site mechanical activities for complex construction projects in Mons, Belgium. You will work closely with the Safety Advisor, Mechanical Package Manager and other trade leads to ensure safe, high‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site safety in partnership with the Mercury Safety Advisor, including set‑up, maintenance and close‑out of the safety file.
• Oversee site quality assurance together with the Mechanical Package Manager, handling the QA file from initiation to completion.
• Coordinate the project schedule with other trades, package leads, consulting engineers and the client.
• Control all cost elements for the mechanical package, including subcontractors, material deliveries, plant, equipment, variations and valuations.
• Direct day‑to‑day on‑site operations, supervise subcontractor activities, track progress against schedule and manpower levels, and run weekly subcontractor meetings.
• Maintain the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system, issue weekly punch lists and ensure timely resolution.
• Provide labour and subcontractor hours to the time administrator, attend all relevant site and project meetings, and produce weekly progress reports.
• Schedule and track material deliveries to align with the project timeline and support project close‑out activities such as O&M manuals, punch lists, safety and QA files.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supervising mechanical works on construction sites.
• Strong understanding of site safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors, monitor schedules and control project costs.
• Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to produce clear progress and risk reports.
