Mechanical Design Engineer – Robotics

About the role

Join Magnax as a Mechanical Design Engineer – Robotics and help shape compact, high‑performance actuators for robotic applications. You will translate demanding motion requirements into practical, manufacturable mechanical designs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical solutions for robotic systems from concept through prototype to production.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings, applying GD&T and relevant industry standards.
• Perform mechanical calculations and design verification to ensure performance, reliability and durability.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors on components, manufacturing processes, tolerances, materials and specifications.
• Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting and continuous design improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of professional experience designing robotic systems, actuators or precision motion systems.
• Strong understanding of robotics system requirements such as payload, speed, torque, force, accuracy and duty cycle.
• Awareness of latest trends and emerging technologies in robotics and actuation.
• Existing work authorization in Belgium and fluent English communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Siemens NX CAD software.
• Experience using Teamcenter PDM (or similar) for product data management.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
