Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Join a Belgian engineering consulting firm that helps SMEs and large industrial players turn R&D ideas into market‑ready products. As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will take concepts from sketch to production, working in a collaborative R&D environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design plastic and metal components such as housings, heatsinks, and brackets.
• Perform tolerance calculations and mechanical analyses.
• Consider thermal, mechanical and environmental influences during design.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, sourcing and quality teams.
• Coordinate with external partners and suppliers.
• Support the industrialisation of new products.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in industrial design or a related discipline.
• Experience in mechanical design of plastics and/or metals.
• Strong communicator comfortable with multiple stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive and able to manage several projects at once.
• Interest in leading a small team is a plus.

Required skills

• NX (3D CAD) proficiency.
• Tolerance calculation expertise.
• Mechanical analysis capability.
