Managing Director – Belgium

About the role

The Managing Director for Belgium will take full ownership of the Belgian entity, leading a high‑impact turnaround and restoring financial performance. Reporting to the Group, this senior leader will shape market leadership in the specialised steel distribution sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assume full P&L responsibility for Belgian operations and develop a comprehensive turnaround strategy.
• Drive commercial excellence, strengthen key accounts and identify growth opportunities.
• Reposition the business in the Belgian market with a differentiated value proposition.
• Build, develop and motivate a high‑performing leadership team, fostering accountability and a performance culture.
• Strengthen relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders across the steel value chain.
• Align local execution with Group strategy while adapting to market dynamics.
• Promote a strong culture of health, safety, compliance and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience at Managing Director or General Manager level within the steel distribution industry.
• Demonstrated track record of turning around a loss‑making business into a profitable operation.
• Strong commercial background in B2B industrial sales.
• Extensive P&L management experience, including cost restructuring and margin improvement.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
• Resilient, hands‑on, results‑oriented leadership style.
