Manager, Controller

About the role

The Manager, Controller will join Mastercard Europe’s Finance division and lead US GAAP and statutory reporting, rebates & incentives, and pricing & billing operations for an assigned European division. Reporting to the Director, Controller, the role oversees a small team and works closely with finance, legal, and commercial partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review conversion of accounts from US GAAP to local GAAP and ensure accurate financial statements.
• Oversee the full accounting process for rebates and incentives, coordinating with the Global Business Services Center.
• Provide complex accounting advice, challenge treatments, and communicate guidance to regional finance teams.
• Participate in contract drafting to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance with Mastercard policies.
• Coordinate timely and accurate reporting to corporate controllers in New York.
• Support implementation of new pricing in the billing system and manage related billing matters.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in US GAAP and statutory reporting within a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition, rebates, and incentives accounting.
• Proven ability to lead a small team and collaborate across finance, legal, and commercial functions.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to advise business partners.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with statutory reporting requirements in Europe.
• Familiarity with pricing and billing systems.
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting policies to contracts.
