Maintenance Manager

About the role

Paulig is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join its technical department and report to the Technical Engineering Manager. Based in Roeselare, Belgium, you will lead the safe, efficient and compliant execution of maintenance activities at the site, empowering the maintenance teams to deliver strong results while aligning day-to-day work with business objectives, safety standards and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the maintenance execution team, setting clear objectives and translating company priorities into concrete maintenance targets.
• Take ownership of preventive maintenance execution with the team leaders and validate maintenance planning.
• Ensure short-term actions are taken for urgent technical issues and monitor the quality, safety and compliance of maintenance work.
• Follow up on external contractors' work and review their service performance.
• Monitor progress against the maintenance plan, organize debriefings after major technical issues and safeguard information flow with other stakeholders.
• Contribute to compliance with audit requirements such as FSSC, ISO 14001 and BRC, as well as quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Track technical performance indicators such as technical availability, waste, safety compliance, budget versus plan, wrench time and MTTR.

Required profile

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar maintenance role; manufacturing experience is important, food industry experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Fluent in the local language and English.

Required skills

• Familiarity with MS Office and maintenance management/CMMS software.
• Leadership skills, ability to motivate a team and communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
