Linux System Engineer – Monitoring & Automation

About the role

We are seeking a Linux System Engineer to join an enterprise infrastructure project in Brussels. You will be responsible for operating and improving a large‑scale Linux environment while designing modern monitoring and automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise Linux platforms, handling lifecycle management, OS updates and troubleshooting.
• Design, implement and sustain monitoring and alerting solutions, including dashboards, metrics collection and log aggregation.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and support ITIL‑aligned change management.
• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible and Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices, integrating it with operational workflows.
• Evaluate new observability technologies, run proof‑of‑concepts and collaborate with platform, security and infrastructure teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience managing enterprise Linux infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Satellite.
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring tools (preferably PRTG) and Ansible Automation Platform.
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab or Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Professional proficiency in English and either Dutch or French.
