Legal Manager EMEA & Asia

About the role

Lotus Bakeries is seeking a Legal Manager to provide autonomous, business‑focused legal advice across Europe, South Africa and Asia. The role supports commercial contracting, marketing and procurement while ensuring compliance with local laws in a fast‑paced FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including sales, procurement and marketing agreements.
• Advise internal stakeholders on day‑to‑day legal matters, promoting risk awareness and business‑enabling solutions.
• Identify legal risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies tailored to the FMCG landscape.
• Maintain and share regional legal know‑how, coordinating with external counsel where required.
• Conduct bi‑annual meetings with the Management Team to align legal support with business strategy.
• Monitor legislative changes, assess impact and communicate updates to the business.
• Lead or contribute to regional and global legal initiatives and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Collaborate with the Compliance Manager on local compliance needs and improvement opportunities.
• Design and deliver training sessions on relevant legal topics.

Required profile

• 6 to 10 years of post‑qualification experience in commercial law, preferably within an international FMCG or similar environment.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and act as a trusted advisor to senior business functions.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cross‑border legal issues.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.
