Legal Counsel (Mid-level) – Corporate & Commercial

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑level Legal Counsel to join our corporate and commercial team in Brussels. You will work closely with multiple departments and senior leadership, providing legal expertise that directly influences our company’s strategy and day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and validate a wide range of contracts, supporting internal teams during negotiations and ensuring legal compliance.
• Advise internal stakeholders on insurance, corporate, contract law and the regulatory framework applicable to insurers.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, delivering clear, pragmatic opinions on commercial, governance and strategic matters.
• Support litigation matters in collaboration with external counsel.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and governance regulations, contribute to internal policy development, and support the corporate secretariat function.
• Interact directly with decision‑making bodies such as management and the board.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law from a Belgian university.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant legal experience, with strong knowledge of corporate law.
• Interest in insurance law and governance matters.
• Analytical mindset able to simplify complex legal concepts.
• Native French or Dutch speaker with a good command of the other language.
• Proactive, curious, autonomous and high integrity.
• Comfortable working cross‑functionally with different departments.
