Legal Advisor – Insurance & Pension Supervision

About the role

Join the supervision department responsible for overseeing insurance products and supplementary pensions. As a Legal Advisor you will ensure that insurance offerings and pension schemes comply with the relevant legislation and deliver value to consumers.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise compliance of life and non‑life insurance products with applicable legislation, including pre‑contractual information, advertising and product terms.
• Assess whether insurance products meet product oversight and governance rules and deliver value for money to consumers.
• Develop and apply risk‑based tools to target supervision activities effectively and contribute to EU‑level projects.
• Monitor compliance with social legislation governing second‑pillar supplementary pensions and respond to clarification requests and member complaints.
• Examine the legal structure of occupational retirement provision institutions (IORPs), ensuring they satisfy statutory requirements regarding legal form, articles of association and other prudential conditions.

Required profile

• Law degree with specialization in insurance, pension or financial services law.
• Experience in regulatory supervision or compliance within the insurance or pension sector.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex legislation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; knowledge of the local language is a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of insurance product regulation and product oversight & governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with prudential supervision requirements for IORPs.
• Ability to draft legal opinions, respond to queries and handle complaints.
