Learning & Development Officer

About the role

Heidelberg Materials Benelux is seeking a Learning & Development Officer to join its headquarters in Braine-l’Alleud. You will support the L&D team, manage health & safety trainings across three business lines, and help shape the company’s learning strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage mandatory, function‑specific and certification trainings for the entire employee population.
• Define, implement and monitor the training offer in line with company strategy, collaborating with business line and H&S stakeholders.
• Support local Training Administrators, share best practices and optimise communication flows.
• Centralise training needs, handle purchase orders, budgets and subsidy requests together with the L&D Manager.
• Organise logistics – invitations, rooms, catering, attendance lists and feedback collection.
• Develop and maintain training administration in Workday and other internal platforms, ensuring accurate reporting.
• Stay up‑to‑date with LMS, intranet, SharePoint and Teams developments and disseminate knowledge.
• Act as backup for colleagues on technical and soft‑skill programmes.

Required profile

• Education in Administration, HR or a related field (Bachelor or equivalent experience).
• Experience or strong affinity with HR, Learning & Development and Health & Safety topics.
• Bilingual Dutch and French, fluent business‑level English.
• Organised, flexible, team‑player with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset.
• Customer‑focused, results‑driven and able to meet deadlines.
• Valid B‑driver’s licence and willingness to travel to Belgian sites.
