Junior Payroll Specialist (FR/NL)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Payroll Specialist who will support the payroll operations for Belgian employees. The role involves processing payroll, handling benefits data, and ensuring compliance with Belgian legal and organisational requirements while working closely with HR, finance and business units.

Key responsibilities

• Administer new hires and leavers, ensuring accurate data entry into the payroll system.
• Manage absences, overtime, special leave and lease‑car allocations.
• Execute the monthly payroll closing process, including coding payroll files in the Blox system and preparing HR payroll reports.
• Order and calculate meal vouchers each payroll period.
• Handle cash requests for off‑cycle and in‑cycle payroll payments.
• Apply SOX internal controls and follow quality checklists to meet deadlines and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with HR teams, finance, business units and external vendors such as SD Worx and EY.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll or related HR functions.
• Fluent Dutch with good working knowledge of French and English.
• In‑depth knowledge of Belgian payroll, social security and labour‑law regulations.
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail and ability to process large transaction volumes.
• Excellent communication, confidentiality and adaptability to changing legal requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with payroll software such as Eblox (or similar) and ProTime.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and general MS Office skills.
