Junior Designer – Technical Design for Electrical Systems

About the role

PM Group is seeking a Junior Designer to support infrastructural projects for a client in the Brussels region. You will work within the Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) department, collaborating closely with project engineers, technicians and external partners to design and realise electrical installations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt standard drawings for electric installations, including protection, automation and control systems.
• Apply Elia norms, standards and methods, and integrate designs into existing substations.
• Produce design documentation using AutoCAD and perform quality control of study outputs.
• Coordinate with project engineers to resolve design issues and forward drawings to relevant departments.
• Maintain close contact with contractors during construction and with technicians during commissioning to solve on‑site problems.
• Participate in a 6‑month traineeship program, grouped by language (Dutch or French).

Required profile

• Qualification in a technical field such as electricity, electromechanics, automation or engineering.
• Strong interest in design activities and willingness to develop technical expertise.
• Team player with excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Attention to detail, accurate work habits, and solid planning and organisational abilities.
• Motivation to grow within the role and the broader engineering environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD.
