IXL Application Design Engineer

About the role

The IXL Application Design Engineer will contribute to the design of Interlocking (IXL) systems for signalling projects. Working within Alstom's Project Engineering team, you will follow the company’s application design process to deliver high‑quality design artefacts on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Produce design scheme plan layouts, control tables, safe HMI layouts, signalling logic application data, hardware configuration drawings, cable core plans and equipment room layouts.
• Ensure compliance with reference design methods and tools, requesting deviations when necessary.
• Participate in detailed design review meetings and provide progress reports.
• Organise and deliver documentation, software and hardware design packages according to project templates.
• Support the Project IXL Design Leader and V&V Manager in debugging design issues.
• Analyse and manage design change requests and define HW & SW packages for verification, installation and testing.
• Maintain independence of design activities from verification activities and monitor QCD performance.
