Instrumentation Engineer – French Speaking (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a French‑speaking Instrumentation Engineer to join our waste‑to‑energy engineering team in Belgium. The role involves designing, specifying, installing and commissioning instrumentation systems for large‑scale thermal and waste‑to‑energy plants, supporting projects from concept through to performance testing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop instrumentation solutions for steam, condensate, boiler, flue‑gas treatment, emissions monitoring and plant control systems.
• Create and maintain P&IDs, instrument lists and technical specifications.
• Select and specify flowmeters, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, analyzers and control valves.
• Support integration with DCS and PLC platforms and review supplier proposals.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning and performance testing.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and optimise measurement and control systems on‑site.
• Coordinate with process, electrical and mechanical engineering teams throughout project delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Automation, Energy Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in industrial process, power generation, biomass or waste‑to‑energy projects.
• Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation and control systems, especially steam flow measurement.
• Fluent French and proficient technical English.
