IBM i (AS/400) Software Solutions Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IBM i (AS/400) Software Solutions Engineer to join our Brussels team. You will work on business‑critical enterprise applications, translating requirements into reliable, scalable solutions while collaborating closely with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and design technical solutions.
• Develop, test, deploy and maintain mission‑critical applications.
• Automate and optimise existing systems for performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure security and availability.
• Collaborate with users, developers, project managers and IT teams throughout the software lifecycle.
• Produce technical documentation and share knowledge across teams.
• Explore emerging technologies, including AI, to improve quality and efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in software development and enterprise application support.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn and innovate.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
