Human Resources Manager

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will lead full HR operations for Hydro's Raeren site, which employs around 200 staff. Reporting to Plant Management, the role combines strategic HR initiatives with day‑to‑day operational responsibilities, working closely with a local HR Administrator and the Benelux HR team.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and support managers and employees on HR topics such as absenteeism, performance management and employee relations.
• Maintain constructive relations with unions and other social partners, ensuring compliance with Belgian labour law and Hydro policies.
• Coordinate recruitment, partnering with temporary‑employment and recruitment agencies.
• Implement HR processes including performance management, talent development, onboarding and employee engagement.
• Produce workforce planning reports and support organisational change initiatives.
• Act as a visible, approachable HR contact on the production site.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
• Broad HR experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in employee and labour relations, including union consultation.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian labour law and general HR processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact at all organisational levels.
• Fluent in German and English.
