Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Director

About the role

This senior position leads the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) function for a fast‑growing, entrepreneurial manufacturing business. The director defines strategy, builds a robust HSE management system and drives a safety‑first culture across global sites.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a HSE strategy aligned with operational and environmental goals for the frozen business unit.
• Develop and maintain a global HSE Management System, set KPIs, and integrate HSE into performance frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with international, regional and local HSE laws, certifications (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA) and lead audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Promote zero‑incident workplace, champion behavioral safety programs and safety leadership initiatives.
• Oversee sustainability roadmap, monitor ESG performance and drive reductions in emissions, energy, waste and water.
• Lead a global HSE community, create training and coaching programs, and represent HSE in industry and regulatory forums.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in engineering, occupational health & safety, environmental science or related field.
• 10+ years of HSE leadership experience in a global, multi‑site manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead cultural transformation and behavioral safety initiatives.
• Strong communication skills, fluent in English; additional languages a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
