Health and Safety Manager (Preventieadviseur Niveau 1)

About the role

The Health and Safety Manager will lead the health and safety function at McBride’s Ieper plant, ensuring that the site operates in full compliance with the company’s HS Management System, Belgian and EU legislation, and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the HS function across the Ieper plant and support the Site Leadership Team in compliance matters.
• Develop, review, plan and coordinate the site’s health and safety management system.
• Ensure adherence to company HS policies, standards, objectives and local legislative requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison with government agencies, auditors and external stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification and incident investigations, driving corrective and preventive actions.
• Promote a positive HS culture and strive for zero harm and zero waste.
• Accelerate operations toward a sustainable future by integrating HS considerations into daily processes.

Required profile

• Proactive attitude with the ability to influence and support site leadership.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian and EU health and safety legislation.
• Experience in managing HS systems in an industrial environment.
• Excellent communication skills for liaison with authorities and auditors.
