Health and Safety Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead the HS function at our plant. The role will drive compliance with the HS Management System, promote a zero‑harm culture and support sustainable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain HS policies, procedures and management systems in line with Belgian/EU legislation and corporate standards.
• Act as primary liaison with government agencies, auditors and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are applied.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, monitor HS performance metrics and embed safety considerations into operational decisions.
• Provide HS training, coaching and awareness programmes for all employee levels.
• Manage emergency preparedness and response plans.
• Lead and develop a team of three HS specialists, fostering talent and succession planning.
• Serve as Prevention Advisor in the Committee of Safety at Work.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Certified Prevention Advisor Level 1 with at least 15 years of experience in a production environment, preferably chemical.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety and fire‑protection legislation.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
