Head of Finance

About the role

Merchery is seeking a Head of Finance to build a reliable, scalable finance function that will support the company’s ambition to grow from €20M to €100M in global revenue. The role combines deep corporate finance expertise with a hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset, working directly with the co‑founder and leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a finance function capable of supporting a €100M international group.
• Secure financing, subsidies, and manage cash to fund rapid growth.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, monthly closing, reporting, and financial control across all entities.
• Coordinate external accounting firms, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Improve supplier payment, accounts payable, and customer credit control processes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Operations, HR, Marketing, and Tech to enhance margins, pricing, costs, and overall profitability.
• Develop and maintain financial processes, controls, tools, and team structure for international expansion.

Required profile

• Strong corporate finance background with a proven track record in scaling businesses.
• Hands‑on operator who takes ownership, works through imperfect information, and delivers results personally.
• Ability to understand complex multi‑entity, multi‑currency business models and make quick decisions.
• Excellent analytical mindset with the capacity to turn data into actionable business opportunities.
