Head of Communications & Engagement

About the role

MSF Belgium is seeking a senior leader to shape its public narrative, drive engagement with Belgian audiences and support resource mobilisation. Reporting to the Management Team, you will oversee a multidisciplinary communications team and coordinate closely with the Operational Center/Directorate.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy aligned with MSF’s international framework.
• Lead the Strategic Editorial Meeting, set editorial priorities and ensure consistent content across all departments.
• Oversee editorial governance, risk assessment and ethical representation for the public website msf.be.
• Direct public mobilisation and political influencing campaigns, linking them with fundraising and advocacy initiatives.
• Represent MSF Belgium on the global Director of Communications platform, contributing to movement‑wide coordination.
• Collaborate with the Support & Solutions Team to optimise tools, analytics and workflow for communication performance.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in communications, preferably within a non‑profit or humanitarian context.
• Strong strategic thinking, ability to align communication with fundraising, advocacy and institutional goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and editorial processes.
