Head, Industry Engagement Section

About the role

The Defence Industry, Innovation and Armaments Division (D2IA) of NATO is seeking a senior leader to head the Industry Engagement Section. The Head will shape and drive NATO’s high‑level engagement with the defence industry, organise flagship events and steer the NATO Industry Advisory Group.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of NATO’s strategy for cooperation with industry and manage the online engagement platform.
• Plan and organise major events such as the NATO Industry Forum and NATO Summit Defence Industry Forum.
• Represent NATO at industry‑related conferences and meetings.
• Provide mentorship, performance feedback and a positive work environment for the Section staff.
• Advise on policy development for the NATO Industry Advisory Group and coordinate with relevant committees.
• Maintain knowledge‑management processes to capture and share industry insights across the Division.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience, including managerial experience.
• Proven experience organising and coordinating multi‑stakeholder, high‑level events.
• Excellent drafting skills for policy documents, background papers and speaking notes for senior management.
• Advanced proficiency in one NATO official language (English or French) and elementary proficiency in the other.
