Global Technical Services Manager – Carbon Black

About the role

We are seeking a Global Technical Services Manager to lead technical services and application support for carbon black used in inks, paints, and coatings. This remote, full‑time position will act as the primary technical liaison for customers worldwide, helping solve formulation challenges and supporting product commercialization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global technical services for liquid system applications of carbon black.
• Support customers with formulation and application troubleshooting, addressing dispersion, rheology, gloss, jetness, and filterability issues.
• Conduct design of experiments (DoE) trials, product evaluations, and scale‑up activities.
• Recommend suitable carbon black grades based on specific customer applications.
• Develop application testing standards and performance benchmarks.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales teams.
• Support product development and commercialization initiatives.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and resolve technical complaints.
• Prepare technical presentations, webinars, and application documentation.
• Manage technical operations, KPIs, and team development.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience working with carbon black for inks and coatings.
• Strong knowledge of dispersion science, rheology, and color science.
• Proven experience in customer‑facing technical or application roles.
• Hands‑on experience with application testing and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent in German and English.
