GL Accountant – Medical & Pharma – Brussels

About the role

We are seeking a General Ledger (GL) Accountant to act as the right‑hand to the Chief Accountant within an international company operating in the medical and pharmaceutical sector. The role combines autonomous daily accounting work with strategic support for statutory reporting and tax compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily accounting entries in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and the General Ledger.
• Ensure data accuracy and perform regular account reconciliations.
• Execute monthly and yearly closings, including cash‑flow preparation.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with Belgian GAAP.
• Report financial results to the group and handle VAT, NBB and Intrastat filings.
• Assist external auditors and maintain internal controls.
• Support process‑improvement and automation initiatives.
• Serve as a point of contact for the finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5‑10 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP.
• Experience in a small‑to‑medium international environment is a plus.
• Fluent English, good command of French; Dutch is an advantage.
• Autonomous, reliable, detail‑oriented and comfortable in a small, versatile team.
