GL Accountant – Brussels (Energy Sector)

About the role

The client is a key player in the energy transition, offering a dynamic environment where innovation and technical excellence meet. As a GL Accountant you will handle core accounting functions for multiple Belgian entities.

Key responsibilities

• Post daily accounting entries in AP, AR and GL.
• Ensure data accuracy and reconcile accounts.
• Execute monthly and annual closings for several BE entities.
• Prepare cash‑flow analysis and financial statements.
• Maintain compliance with BE‑GAAP, GE‑GAAP and IFRS.
• Produce group financial reporting and VAT/Intrastat filings.
• Support external audits, internal controls and process‑automation initiatives.
• Act as a finance‑team point of contact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, audit or financial reporting.
• Fluent in Dutch or French; German and English are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of BE‑GAAP, GE‑GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
