Generative AI Engineer

About the role

As a Generative AI Engineer you specialize in integrating generative AI solutions and applying generative models. Your work enables advancements in various industries for our customers, including data augmentation, RAG systems, virtual assistants, and more, expanding the AI capabilities and driving innovation in applications that require realistic outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Implementing and augmenting generative AI models and tools such as GPT, LLaMA, LangChain, LangFuse.
• Integrating third‑party solutions (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) with proprietary methods.
• Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to define AI project requirements and objectives.
• Conducting research to stay up‑to‑date with the latest advancements in generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning techniques.
• Optimizing existing generative AI models for improved performance, scalability, and efficiency.
• Developing and maintaining MLOps pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature extraction, model training, and evaluation.
• Building containerised AI back‑ends using Docker and FastAPI.
• Creating clear documentation and technical specifications for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Contributing to best practices and standards for generative AI development.
• Providing technical mentorship to team members.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in native Dutch and English (French is a plus).
• Degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning or related field (Ph.D. a plus).
• Solid experience implementing generative AI models with strong understanding of transformer architectures.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with machine‑learning libraries.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and software engineering principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively.
• Proactive mindset and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
