General Ledger Accountant Lead

About the role

Euroclear Bank SA/NV is looking for a motivated General Ledger Accountant Lead to join its Group Accounting Services (GAS) team. The role combines core general ledger duties with treasury accounting, offering the chance to influence process improvements and support the bank’s AI transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and reconcile ledger accounts and financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
• Execute daily treasury controls and manage the treasury accounting closing process.
• Oversee general accounting and cut‑off activities across a complex international environment.
• Conduct month‑end analytical reviews and explain account fluctuations to stakeholders.
• Prepare and analyse treasury‑related reports (NIE, FX results, variation margin, etc.).
• Monitor windfall contribution reports and assess the impact of Russian sanctions on accounting operations.
• Review hedge accounting effectiveness in collaboration with Corporate Finance/FP&A.
• Lead projects related to Euroclear products, tools, and their accounting impacts.
• Ensure internal control adherence and drive continuous improvement.
• Supervise and develop assigned team members, coordinate audit activities, and own the monthly Balance Sheet Review process.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 5–7 years of experience in General Ledger accounting or Treasury Back Office.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with a drive for innovation.
