Functional Analyst

About the role

As a Functional Analyst you will act as the “architect of requirements”, translating business ambitions into detailed data specifications that guide engineering teams. You will work within agile delivery squads, ensuring data models and mappings are robust, scalable, and aligned with governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic requirement engineering, analysing and refining business needs into functional specifications.
• Design conceptual and logical data models, applying Data Vault 2.0 or Kimball techniques.
• Create source‑to‑target mapping documents that define data lineage and transformation logic.
• Define acceptance criteria and oversee test script execution to validate solutions.
• Collaborate with data governance specialists to embed quality, privacy, and compliance into designs.
• Provide ongoing technical support to developers within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• 2–6 years of experience in functional analysis or data‑centric consulting.
• Proven expertise in data modeling (conceptual/logical) and familiarity with Data Vault or Kimball methodologies.
• Experience with cloud data‑warehousing platforms such as Snowflake or Azure Synapse.
• Comfortable working in Scrum teams; Product Owner or Scrum Master certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge of data‑governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation) is advantageous.
