Freight Forwarder – Ocean Logistics

About the role

As an Ocean Freight Forwarder you will coordinate end‑to‑end sea shipments, working closely with customers, shipping lines and internal teams to ensure goods move safely and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate daily with customers, suppliers and overseas agents by email and phone.
• Create and manage bookings with shipping lines and other service providers.
• Handle expedition dossiers from documentation to invoicing, including approval and dispute of supplier invoices.
• Prepare complete transport files, including waivers, permits and certificates.
• Interpret and execute Letters of Credit.
• Prepare and verify customs instructions and related documents.
• Schedule transports and monitor shipments until final destination.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience as an Ocean Freight Forwarder.
• Strong knowledge of IMDG, GDP and Incoterms.
• Fluent written and spoken Dutch, English and French.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and stress‑resilience.

Required skills

• IMDG code expertise.
• GDP compliance knowledge.
• Incoterms application.
• Familiarity with IRIS software.
• Familiarity with CargoWise system.
• Letter of Credit handling.
• Customs documentation preparation.
