Freight Forwarder – Import/Export Logistics

About the role

As an Export Freight Forwarder, you will be responsible for managing export shipments from start to finish, ensuring smooth execution and high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and validate customer export orders in the TMS in line with quotations and SOPs.
• Plan and coordinate export shipments considering transit times, costs, and operational constraints.
• Prepare and verify export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs documents.
• Liaise with customers, carriers, agents, and suppliers to ensure timely shipment execution.
• Arrange bookings with carriers (air, sea, or multimodal) in collaboration with the Middle Office.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively inform stakeholders of any deviations.
• Ensure compliance with export regulations and documentation requirements.
• Maintain accurate data in the TMS and generate required transport documents.
• Prepare invoices and ensure all cost postings are correctly registered.
• Provide updates and reports to customers and management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience.
• Experience in freight forwarding (export is a plus).
• Fluent in Dutch, with knowledge of French and English (logistics terminology).
• Good knowledge of MS Office and TMS systems.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented, and stress‑resistant.
• Strong communication skills and customer‑focused mindset.
• Accurate, organised, and quality‑driven.
• Team player with a hands‑on mentality.
