Freelance Security Professional – Dutch/French Native, Brussels

About the role

We are looking for an expert security professional to join our fintech company on a freelance basis, working from Brussels 1‑2 days per week. The role goes beyond a traditional SOC position, offering the chance to influence security operations, threat detection, SIEM engineering, cloud security, incident response and infrastructure protection.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise SIEM solutions using platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic or ArcSight.
• Monitor, detect and investigate security incidents across cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on‑premise environments.
• Develop and maintain security automation and forensic investigation processes.
• Collaborate with network security teams to configure and manage firewalls and next‑generation security devices (Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point).
• Provide actionable threat intelligence and improve security processes continuously.

Required profile

• Native‑level proficiency in Dutch or French.
• Proven experience in a security operations centre or similar environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
