Freelance Business Controller

About the role

We are seeking a senior Freelance Business Controller for a 6‑month interim assignment in Hasselt. The role supports the controlling team in a complex, multi‑entity environment, providing timely financial insights to drive decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support business controlling activities within the assigned scope.
• Perform detailed financial analysis (actuals vs. budget vs. forecast).
• Act as a business partner to stakeholders, delivering insights for decision‑making.
• Monitor and analyse KPIs and financial performance across entities.
• Support investment controlling and CAPEX follow‑up.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Strengthen financial control and improve overall controlling quality.
• Handle day‑to‑day controlling tasks to ensure continuity.
• Support various finance projects and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Senior controller with strong experience in business controlling.
• Proven experience in a complex, multi‑entity environment.
• Background in project‑based work or project controlling.
• Excellent analytical capabilities with a hands‑on approach.
• Comfortable working under pressure in a high‑volume, fast‑paced setting.
• Proactive, structured, and solution‑oriented.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
