Freelance AML Quality Assurance Specialist (2nd Line)

About the role

We are seeking a Freelance AML Quality Assurance Specialist to work in the second line of defence, independently reviewing AML/KYC files and ensuring that our anti‑money‑laundering controls meet internal standards and regulatory expectations. This role offers the chance to influence the quality of our financial‑crime framework while collaborating with compliance, risk and AML teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quality‑assurance reviews of AML/KYC files, client onboarding decisions and risk assessments.
• Assess the quality of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) activities.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies and regulatory risks and translate them into actionable recommendations.
• Monitor adherence to internal AML policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Draft review reports and present findings to compliance, AML teams and senior management.
• Support continuous improvement of AML processes, controls and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in AML, KYC, compliance or financial‑crime functions.
• Proven experience in a second‑line control, quality‑assurance or compliance‑monitoring role.
• Strong knowledge of CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring and AML regulations.
• Ability to analyse files independently, challenge decisions and propose pragmatic recommendations.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
