Formulation Scientist

About the role

Zymofix is seeking a motivated Microbial Formulation Scientist to join its R&D team. You will lead the design and optimisation of microbial product formulations that support sustainable agriculture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop formulation protocols for microbial products in both liquid and solid formats, creating and evaluating prototypes to identify optimal formulations.
• Manage relationships with contract research organisations and external partners to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Maintain thorough and accurate records of standard operating procedures and experimental results.
• Support scale‑up from laboratory through pilot to production scale, defining and validating commercially viable formulations with focus on cost‑effectiveness, stability, shelf‑life, efficacy, safety and compatibility with agricultural practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in bioscience engineering, agriculture, microbiology, biotechnology or a related field.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in microbial formulation development, preferably in an agricultural or biotech setting.
• Deep knowledge and hands‑on experience with formulation technology (liquid and solid) for bacteria and fungi.
• Strong ability to coordinate collaborations with external parties.
• Knowledge of up‑scaling from lab to pre‑commercial products; familiarity with the agricultural industry is a plus.
