Food Safety & Quality Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with the QA Manager to ensure that our production processes meet the highest standards of food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate, implement and monitor operational procedures and standards in line with group requirements, supporting the quality management system.
• Deliver quality and hygiene training for new employees and keep procedures up‑to‑date with regulatory changes.
• Assist in preparing and completing external audits and drive continuous improvement of quality systems.
• Support the handling of customer and logistics complaints, defining corrective actions within the QMS.
• Create and maintain procedures, work instructions and visual standards to guarantee product quality on production lines.
• Update product specifications, HACCP plans and manage label information in the ERP and Interspec systems.
• Oversee cleaning activities, calibrate measuring equipment, take samples and perform related quality‑control tests.
• Stay informed on industry developments to apply best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology or a related field.
• Relevant experience in quality management within the food industry.
• Familiarity with food safety standards such as HACCP, BRC and IFS.
• Hands‑on, shop‑floor presence with strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Methodical, detail‑oriented and able to work independently to develop solutions.
