Financial Specialist (Junior)

About the role

The Financial Specialist will join EUROCONTROL’s Financial Analysis & Business Planning Unit in Brussels. The role supports the Agency’s financial planning, forecasting and analytical activities that underpin strategic decision‑making. You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with internal business areas to ensure accurate budget execution and performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare regular financial checkpoints (Control Towers) for various Agency services.
• Collect, analyse and validate data for budget execution and financial planning cycles, supporting the definition of SMART performance objectives and KPIs.
• Assist in the design and rollout of a refreshed Cost Allocation Methodology and Procurement Planning Framework.
• Measure strategic achievements through balanced scorecards and KPI monitoring.
• Produce financial documentation such as reports, presentations, dashboards and KPI summaries.
• Support audit processes and respond to financial information requests.
• Participate in ad‑hoc studies, workshops and meetings, delivering structured analytical outputs.

Required profile

• Residence in Brussels or within a reasonable commuting distance.
• Relevant university degree in finance, economics, business administration or a related field.
• Experience in financial analysis, budgeting or cost allocation, preferably in a public‑sector or international organisation.
• Ability to work under supervision of a Senior Financial Expert and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
